Abstract

The development of the telecommunications needs of an increasingly fast today, encouraging people to always be creative with creating new technology. An example is a telecommunications technology GSM or Global System Mobile Communication, the multiservice system that enables communication among users regardless of the place and time to perform various services, such as direct communication and SMS (Short Message Service). Mapping the location of BTS (Base Transceiver Station) for the mobile phone network is a problem often faced by the service provider of mobile communications network. East Java is one of the provinces that have less than 550 District spread over 32 County or City. Each District has a different geographical conditions. Similarly, the difference georgrafi condition and location of each district in each district or city. The purpose of this study are 1) Produce a digital map system in the form of Web Map, which can be used to display the information mapping the location of BTS mobile phone networks have been built and which will be built; 2) Can know the region or district potential locations to set up towers BTS, and BTS types are suitable for specific areas based on the ability of BTS and geographical conditions and extensive territory. The design and implementation of this system software using Ms SQL Server while designing maps using MapInfo Professional 10.0 and applications using MapInfo MapXTreme webmap. With WebMap is expected to facilitate telecom network operators in expanding its network and coverage as well as facilitate in determining the development of BTS sites and find out which areas are underserved telecommunications network.
