Abstract

ABSTRACT Indonesia is a developing country, many construction projects are being worked on. The implementation of the project is often hampered by undesirable things such as work accidents. The magnitude of work accidents that occur depends on the type of industry, technology and risk control efforts carried out. Broadly speaking, the incidence of workplace accidents is caused by human actions that do not meet work safety and unsafe environmental conditions (Suma’mur, 1984). This study aims to determine the rank and control the risks of OSH. Therefore construction companies or services need to implement occupational health and safety programs (OHS) to reduce the risk of workplace accidents. This study focuses on the study of the risk analysis of workplace accidents on the OSH management system in construction projects. The research method uses qualitative data collection techniques by distributing questionnaires were distributed to get responses regarding potential hazards or risks of workplace accidents. The data that have collected was processed using SPSS 16, a computer application program to elicit validity and reliability. After obtaining the validity and reliability values, risk analysis was being done to respondents’ data by calculating probability and impact sourced from AZ / NZS4360: 2004. The results of probability and impact calculations that were still in the form of percentages then scaled and processed by matrix multiplication to find out which variables should go into low, medium, high or very high risk levels. The results of the study obtained the highest risk as many as 14 sub-variables of worker variables, equipment, methods and work environment.. For high risk, there are 4 sub-variables for worker variables and work methods. While for medium risk as many as 2 sub-variables equipment and work environment. The controlling is done based on variables that have the highest risk. From 20 sub-variables, there are 14 sub-variables that is included in high risk. From several risk controlling methods, the administrative control, elimination and use of PPE were chosen.
