Abstract
This article discusses the NPM as a model of university governance in the epistemology of modernism. Epistemology of modernism is the idea of the search for truth that the emphasis on materialism. Modernity is characterized by corporatism in the university as a result of the invasion of NPM in the university. The principle applied in the management of the business sector in the university so as to produce the commodification and commercialization of education is supported by the measurement of efficiency, efektifikas and financial accountability in all its activities for the purpose of which is to win the economic materialistic. Materialism character contrary to the teachings of Islam, because the human character is basically characterized by the belief of monotheism human form of God.
