Abstract

Activities Children's playground has developed over time, which is reflected in the pattern of play and the type of play equipment used. One form of technology that is very popular these days is the gadget. The use of these gadgets can be found everywhere, both in adults to children in early age including children in Mutiara Bunda Playgroup, Sukodono Sidoarjo. It raises questions to do research, including: 1) How do the patterns of early childhood play in the era of gadgets?, 2) How far early childhood have been using gadgets ?, 3) What positive and negative impacts of the use of gadgets?. While empirical studies done by conducting research on 36 children in Mutiara Bunda Playgroup Sukodono Sidoarjo. Data obtained from the parents/housemaid by using questionnaires and the data has been analyzed descriptively.  The findings of the study states that 50% of the 36 children chose to play a passive form and 44% of active and passive play. The level of use of the gadget in Mutiara Bunda Playgroup is quite high, 72%. The use of gadgets have positive and negative effects for children in early childhood
