Abstract

The purpose of this paper was to determine the meaning of corporate governance in a public sector organization. The research method was conducted by qualitative approach. The research site was Regional Health Security Agency of East Java. Informants in the study were Board of Trustees of the organization. Data collection was done by in-depth interviews and documentation methods. The results of the analysis by the Miles and Huberman method (1992) showed that corporate governance in BPJKD based on various regulations issued by the government of the East Java province include local regulations and rules governor. Corporate governance was defined as funding governance, reporting governance, governance of accountability, transparency, monitoring and evaluation.
